HOUSTON GRAND OPERA RECEIVES $250K GRANT FROM HEARST FOUNDATION

HOUSTON GRAND OPERA RECEIVES $250K GRANT FROM HEARST FOUNDATION GRANT TO SUPPORT HGOco’s STUDENT PERFORMANCE SERIES AND TEACHER WORKSHOPS HOUSTON- Houston Grand Opera (HGO) has received at $250,000 grant from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation to support its Student Performance Series and Teacher Workshops for three years. These programs are administered by HGO’s education and community programs department – HGOco. The Hearst Foundation support will allow HGO to provide more opportunities for students and teachers to enjoy, learn, imagine, participate in and create through opera, said HGOco director Sandra Bernhard. This support will allow us to touch so many more young minds in a positive way and strengthen educators ability to integrate arts into the classroom though real experience. HGOco is a far reaching initiative that seeks to break down boundaries to the arts by creating opportunities for observation, participation and creation for everyone in the greater Houston…
