Ancient legends of "El Dorado" are revealed when arriving in the 'Sunken Temple.' Loinfish, tarantulas and scorpions! The ruins of this lost Mayan civilization showcase some spectacular species including a Tiger Reticulated Python that is over 20 feet long.

METRO BUS SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS DUE TO WEEKEND EVENTS

METRO will detour a number of bus routes over the weekend due to the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run and Houston Rodeo Parades.

ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run and Houston Rodeo Parade

On Saturday, February 27, 2010, two events will affect METRO service: the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Parade from 9:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m.

Both events will start at the intersection of Texas and Smith and travel east on Texas. The Rodeo Parade will continue south on Travis, west on Bell, north on Louisiana, west on Walker and end at Bagby.

The ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run will end at Minute Maid Park Parking Lot ā€œCā€ on Texas Avenue between St. Emanuel and Bastrop.

Customers traveling to downtown may expect minor delays during the event.

Buses will be rerouted in the downtown area.

Supervisors will assist affected customers

MORE: The high point of Houston Ballet’s fortieth anniversary season will be a spectacular new production of one of the great classical works of the nineteenth century repertoire, featuring choreography by Stanton Welch and lavish scenery and costumes by the celebrated English designer Peter Farmer. Set in the Royal India of the past, La Bayadère is a story of eternal love, mystery, fate, vengeance, and justice. The ballet relates the drama of a temple dancer (bayadère), Nikiya, who is loved by Solor, a noble warrior. She is also loved by the High Brahmin, but does not love him in return, as she does Solor.

*Members & a guest enjoy 1/2 price tickets in Grand Tier level.  Each guest will enjoy a complimentary drink during an intermission with Houston Ballet Barre members.  Tickets are $42.50 per person.
