For the eighth consecutive year, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has achieved Charity Navigator’s four-star rating.

According to the Charity Navigator, “this exceptional designation differentiates Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston from its peers and demonstrates to the public that it is worthy of their trust.”

Charity Navigator’s rating judges for sound fiscal management by emphasizing accountability, transparency and quantifiable results. The four-star rating given to Catholic Charities indicates that the agency consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible manner in addition to efficiently managing and growing its finances.

President and CEO Bonna Kol was pleased that Catholic Charities was awarded the highest attainable rating.

“With the recent budget constraints many families are experiencing due to the economic recession, it is important to be able to prove that the agency is a worthy investment of their charitable donations,” Kol said.

Of the 5,000 charities evaluated by Charity Navigator, less than one percent receives the four-star rating in eight or more consecutive years.
